Switching to Linux.

Launching an Os like an app is nice since everything is on the RAM I don’t have to power off one Os to use the other, like in a dual boot scenario. VM appeals to those of us who rarely switch off or restart our computers. Very convenient since I don’t have to save anything.

Plus being able to use various Linux distributions without having to worry about partitions and storage.
Today I was able to compare three Os side by side to determine which distribution looks the best and performs well. This way I can finally make a decision to delete the Windows curse. I agree the windows 10 Os UI is beautiful but its not my house. There are many limitations.
I don’t have to worry about compatibility, drivers in a virtual os. Your touch pad, Bluetooth drivers will work out of the box.

We are all looking to switch to switch to windows. Either temporarily or permanently.. my motivation to switch to Linux is freedom. Since I already use and open source android I should be using a free pc Os. To learn to break and build things. I was unable to destroy windows except with a virus os 😉 .

We can switch with Bios way- dual boot, VM’s, Linux with other compatibility tools like wine.
We can get away from this proprietary curse.
Possibilities are endless i can put Ubuntu on a second monitor and windows on the other and use them side by side. Learn then jump to Linux very great for newbies.
to improve on performance i can make the guest Os if i ever need it. Virtual machine is a way to embrace extend extinguish windows.

The best experience is Linux on the bare-metal though.

Are Electric vehicles in kenya?

I can only say this.

First, the charging station pictured below has since been improved to a better and advanced technology. The tech allows for momentous monitoring of power flow to the electric vehicles (EVs), remote monitoring of the charging process, authenticated usage of the charging station.

In Kenya, electricity is way cheaper than fuel. Say you own a Nissan Leaf 2012 model (EV) and compare it with a Toyota model (i choose this due to local popularity) and run both models for 150 kilometers daily. The EV with a 30kWh battery can give a little over 200 kilometers on a single charge. As such, it would cost the EV owner 30 units*22 shs (electricity price from kplc)=KES 660 to drive for the 150 kilometers. Now, for a modest Toyota, let us choose one with a consumption of 12 kilometers/liter. It will go on to consume 12.5 liters for the 150 kilometers. Currently, petrol cost is at KES 106.3 per liter. Doing the math, the Toyota will cost the driver a rough KES 1400. Now, KES 1400 for petrol vs KES 660 for electricity for the same is distance equals a 50% save for the driver.

The chargers for the EVs can be installed at a home, following set standards that guarantee safety for the users, at public places such as the prestigious malls scattered in Nairobi and the type of level of charging changes depending on the location. Eg a home owner may opt for a Level II AC charger and a mall may prefer a DC Charging station to charge EVs from 0 to 80% battery charge for just 30 minutes.

P.S- the Kenyan economy is starting to look real good for EVs, as the right policy advisers are underway to work on incentives for EV importers to the country. Making an EV the primary car is the best option for car owners.

Its solid state.  So in a hard disk the magnetic platters have to rotate to access data and that takes time even though its a mere 10 milliseconds you will notice it while opening your programs or booting up your machine.

SSD take virtually no time at all to access stored data. They bring about the snappy feeling while operating on any computer. They make no sound at all, consume very little power because nothing rotates. And will never crash making you lose data. They can survive a lot of impact.

Cursor shaking problems

I always recommend everyone that any electronic device you buy should be using power adapters. So any time the power surges, over voltage and brownouts knocks at your home or office. The adapter fails instead of your whole 4k TV or others. So you just replace the adapter itself.
